Ransomware Attack on C-Edge Technologies Disrupts Payment Systems in Small Banks Across India

• A ransomware attack on C-Edge Technologies, a banking technology provider, has caused payment systems in nearly 300 small banks in India to shut down temporarily.

• The attack has affected about 0.5% of the country's payment system volumes, primarily impacting small cooperative and regional banks outside major cities.

• The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has isolated C-Edge from its retail payments system and is conducting an audit to prevent the spread of the attack.
