• The West Bengal Cabinet has approved the launch of the Annapurna Bhandar scheme, effective June 1, which will provide ₹3,000 monthly to women aged 25-60, including those previously enrolled in the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme and eligible individuals under the CAA or Tribunal applications.
• As part of the new BJP government's initiatives, women will also receive free travel on state-run buses from June 1, and a 7th Pay Commission has been established for state government employees, fulfilling election campaign promises.
• Furthermore, the Cabinet has decided to discontinue all monetary schemes based on religious categorization, ceasing honorariums for imams, muezzins, and purohits, and will review the list of Other Backward Classes in accordance with a Calcutta High Court order.
