India Temporarily Suspends Most Postal Services to the US Due to New Customs Regulations

• The Indian Department of Posts has temporarily suspended most international postal services to the United States, effective August 25, 2025, due to new US customs regulations.

• This decision follows the US administration's Executive Order No. 14324, which removes the duty-free de minimis exemption for goods valued up to USD 800 and introduces new customs duties.

• Starting August 29, 2025, all goods sent to the US will be subject to customs duties, with the exception of gift items valued up to USD 100.

• Letters/documents and gift items up to $100 will continue to be accepted, while the Department of Posts works to resolve implementation details and resume full postal operations.
