Shubhanshu Shukla's Return from Axiom 4 Mission


• Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, along with three other astronauts, is returning to Earth after the Axiom 4 mission, with splashdown expected off the coast of California on Tuesday at 3:01 pm IST.

• The SpaceX capsule has undocked from the International Space Station (ISS), marking the beginning of the 22.5-hour journey back to Earth for the crew.

• Shubhanshu Shukla, a decorated officer of the Indian Air Force, is the second Indian to go to space since 1984 and the first to visit the ISS.

• The Axiom-4 mission, also known as Mission Akash Ganga, is part of India's broader space program, which includes a goal to land an Indian on the moon by 2040, with a budget of nearly Rs 33,000 crore allocated.
