The report analyzed data from internet speed tests conducted between September 20 and October 2, covering 11 countries including India. The iPhone 16 models outperformed their predecessors and even Android competitors, including the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series.
• All iPhone 16 series models demonstrated superior median 5G speeds for both downloads and uploads in India compared to the Galaxy S24 Series. This advantage is attributed to the Snapdragon X75 5G modem used in the iPhone 16 Series, which provides faster and more stable 5G connectivity. The iPhone 16 models surpassed the Galaxy S24 Ultra equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 modem and the Exynos 2400-powered base models in terms of median speed calculations.
• While the iPhone 16 currently holds the lead in 5G speeds, it does not utilize the latest modem from Qualcomm. Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon X80 modem, which is featured in the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This suggests that upcoming devices like the Galaxy S25 Series or other smartphones equipped with the new Qualcomm chip may potentially surpass the iPhone 16 in terms of 5G speeds in the future.
