Wednesday night's heavy rains caused havoc in the nation's capital, flooding significant areas of the city and killing a 22-year-old mother and her daughter in Ghazipur. Other areas saw key traffic jams and stranded individuals as the roads turned into rivers.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, heavy rains seriously harmed the route in the Rudraprayag area. The effort to rescue and assist those who are stranded is currently in progress.
As of Thursday, at least 2,670 people had been transported to Sonprayag by relief workers, and as many as 737 people had been saved by helicopter, according to the Uttarakhand police.
