Congress announces Revanth Reddy as CM of Telangana

 Based on a report provided by party observers, the State party chief was selected by Congress central leadership to be the CLP chief; he will take the oath of office as CM on December 7.

After two days of waiting, the Congress central leadership announced A. Revanth Reddy, the head of the Telangana party, as the candidate for Chief Minister of the State. On December 7, he will take the oath of office.

After being elected as the Congress Legislature Party's (CLP) leader, Mr. Reddy will take over as Telangana's (a state created in 2014) first Congress Chief Minister. The report provided by the party's poll monitors was the basis for Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's endorsement.
